My name is Liz Smeekes and my background is in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.  Prior to commencing Liz Smeekes Consultancy I was Director of Sales and Marketing for Hadleys Hotel in Hobart.  Employed at this stage by Doherty Hotels, over the period of 7 years I represented not just Hadleys Hotel, but the Doherty Group of Hotels, which over this time ranged from Motel, Hotel and Resort style 3.5 – 4.5 star properties.

My business was formed in March 2008, out of a desire to continue to work in this industry offering a flexible resource for short or long term projects.  I had identified a need within the industry for sales and marketing experience at times of peak demand, key staff shortages or simply when particular expertise is required.

Newly launched into Tasmania is WNA, Womens Network Australia, and I am the Hobart Co-coordinator for this business women’s networking association.

I am also on the register at Drysdale Institute/TAFE for sessional teaching within our industry and have taught selling and display techniques to Visitor Information Centres.

I have recently completed a Drysdale Institute training course in Building Client Relationships and Business Networks workshop.
